Using the finder and calculators

You do not need an account. Filter choices, comparisons and electricity calculations run in your browser. Our application does not send those inputs to a database or save them between visits.

We have not added advertising cookies, marketing pixels, Google Analytics, a newsletter or a contact form.

Hosting and traffic statistics

Our hosting providers process technical request information to deliver and protect this website. They also provide visitor and page-view counts to the site operator.

This hosting activity is separate from the calculator inputs, which stay in your browser. Technical logs are managed by our hosting providers; we do not control their retention periods. You can contact us below for questions about the service providers involved.

Our site statistics

We count requests for public pages and clicks on the main retailer buttons to understand which pages help readers. We store daily totals by page, retailer offer and broad referral source, such as search engines, AI assistants or Direct / unknown. We do not store IP addresses, visitor identifiers, full referrer URLs or individual browsing histories in these counters. They cannot tell us whether you bought anything.

The totals are stored in our hosted database and retained for up to 400 days, with old totals removed during the daily maintenance report. They are used to improve this website and are not shared with advertisers. Known bots, signed-in visits, prefetches and browser Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control requests are excluded. Other automated traffic may still affect the totals.

You can turn off our counters for this browser below. We save only that choice in a first-party preference cookie, ssf_statistics, for one year. The choice does not change the hosting provider's separate security logs or built-in traffic statistics.

If you email us

Small Server Finder uses your email address and the message you send to answer the enquiry, investigate a correction and maintain the site. This is our legitimate interest in operating a useful, accurate service. Sending a message is optional.

Contact mail passes through Porkbun’s email-forwarding service and Proton Mail. Messages are not used to create a mailing list, sold to advertisers or published with your identity. We keep correspondence while it is needed to resolve the enquiry and retain any necessary record of a correction or dispute; we remove personal details when they are no longer needed for that purpose.

Retailer and source links

Following a link takes you to another organisation’s website. Its privacy and cookie policies apply there. We currently use ordinary source links without affiliate identifiers.

Your choices and rights

You can contact the site operator at hello@smallserverfinder.co.uk to ask about personal information we hold, request a correction or deletion, or ask us to restrict its use. These rights depend on the circumstances.

You can object to our use of your information for our legitimate interests. Include enough detail for us to identify the message or record concerned.

You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We will update this notice if the site’s data use changes.
